A dawn fire at the Odawna market near the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange in Accra has destroyed goods worth thousands of Ghana cedis.
The incident according to an eyewitnesses started around 1 am on 18th November, 2020.
The main cause of the fire outbreak is obscure but it is believed to have been caused by the numerous illegal electricity connection done by the squatters in the area.
This is not the first time a fire-outbreak has been reported in the Odawna community. What makes it more dangerous is how slummy the place is, making it easy for the fire to spread-out within a short time .
The quick response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) is what helped prevent a calamity this dawn.
