When a foodie acquaints herself with the presumed yet viable notion that they might add up to the tall list of unemployed graduates in the country, it can birth and inspire the most captivating and remarkable idea.
That is the story of this final year student of University of Ghana, Legon.
Miss Eunice Nhyira Boakye Boateng is a final year student in Legon reading Human Resource and Psychology.
In an ideal world, a ready job should be waiting for her after graduation but unfortunately, that is not always the case especially in the part of the world we have found ourselves living.
In Nhyira’s case, it was not only the dread of remaining a burden on her parents after they have seen her through University that boosted her to toe this line but importantly, her exceptional love for food, especially Waakye plays a key factor in this pursuit.
Speaking, she could not hide her joy when she spoke about how she loves this Northern delicacy.
According to her, she wanted others to feel an inch of the happiness she feels whenever she has this meal on her plate, relishing each morsel on her tongue.
Her Waakye, BOSS WAAKYE which has now become a catchphrase on almost on social media platforms was birthed about two months ago.
Starting it she says was as difficult just like the beginning of everything great is grueling.
Boss Waakye boss says people contemplated buying from her because she was known for a lot of things but definitely not into rendering food services.
She says that notwithstanding, she urged on and before realization could dawn on, she had gotten referrals from her first customers who were obviously overwhelmed with how good the Waakye tastes.
She serves Waakye from Monday through to Saturday from 8am to 2pm.
Currently, she has no physical eatery which means meals are only on delivery terms.
Nhyira has employed two people who help in meal prepping and packaging and she pays handsomely at the end of each month.
