Fuseini Abdul-Mumin a disabled person who mends and repairs shoes in Yapei in the Savannah Region of Ghana has on Thursday November 12, 2020 received a surprised donation from Wipe Away Foundation, a nonprofit organization.
The charitable foundation led by its founder Mr Mufti Habibu Borejinkpr made a donation of a mini container shop containing brand new footwear of all kinds to the shoe cobbler to aid expand his business. This will help sell and mend shoes at the same time.
The donation was in response to an appeal made by the Yapeiwura to the foundation after its launch, to support the less privileged in his community.
Speaking at the short ceremony to hand over the shop to Abdul-Mumin in Yapei, the secretary to the Yapeiwura Mr Alhassan Asimiu thank the foundation for honoring the Yapeiwura’s appeal by extending a helping hand to the destitute. “Today I am here to hand over the keys of this shop to Abdul-Mumin, I wish to thank Wipe Away Foundation on behalf of the Yapeiwura and the entire youth of Yapei” he added.
Iddi Kamil, the assemblyman for Yapei electoral area commended Wipe Away Foundation for the great endeavor they have done to the people of Yapei. “On behalf of the people of Yapei and my own behalf, we want to thank Wipe Away Foundation for the great endeavor they have done to us and Abdul-Mumin”
The Executive Director of Wipe Away Foundation Mr Mufti Habibu Borejinkpr reechoed the mission of the foundation. He said “the foundation among others is looking at building a society where healthcare, the overall wellbeing and the utmost security of the people are paramount to all stakeholders”.
He added that his outfit is embarking on a project dubbed ‘operation clean the street’ where individuals will be taken off the streets and given decent jobs.
